The Mission

It's a worldwide logistics problem that requires a local answer.

At ROCKIN' RECYCLING, we see an overlooked investment opportunity in the materials communities currently pay to discard. Every product carries usable material intelligence today — it is simply never written down, never standardised, and never connected to the facility that could recover it.

Know your material. Find its channel. Recover it. Rock it.

The challenge is systemic

Nothing in the current system is broken by accident. Each gap feeds the next one, which is why the material ends up in the ground instead of the market.

Labelling is inconsistent

Manufacturers label polymers inconsistently or not at all, so the same material arrives under a dozen different names.

Municipalities fly blind

Municipalities lack actionable material data — they pay to move tonnage without knowing what is actually in it.

Contamination and uncertain markets

Recyclers face contamination and uncertain markets, so recoverable material is downgraded or turned away.

Difficult plastics escape

Difficult plastics keep consuming landfill acreage or escape into the environment entirely.

What we are building

Three pieces that only work together: the standard that names the material, the site that proves it, and the technology that recovers what nothing else can.

POLYID — a universal identification standard

A human- and machine-readable identification system for polymers and their added fibers, fillers and strength members. Think of it as a Pantone-style reference for materials: one code anyone can read, print, scan or mould into a part.

The Rolling Hills pilot

We are acquiring the Rolling Hills Redemption Center to pilot POLYID in Steuben County — proving identification, collection and routing work in a real community before we scale.

A continuous MCD reactor

We are developing a continuous MCD reactor for the polymers that conventional recycling cannot recover, so hard-to-handle plastic becomes a resource instead of acreage.

One accountable local network

Working with communities, manufacturers, municipalities, recyclers, researchers and innovators, we connect identification, collection, sorting, reuse, recycling and advanced recovery into a single accountable local network — instead of six disconnected handoffs.

Our end goal

A circular economy in which every product carries usable material intelligence, residents know exactly where an item belongs, and local facilities route it to its highest-value use before it becomes waste.

Steuben County will provide the proof

A measurable, community-owned operating model.

Lowers disposal costs for the county

Preserves landfill capacity

Creates local jobs

Develops new material markets

Reinvests recovered value into education and infrastructure

Delivers a measurable, community-owned operating model

From there, the same POLYID standards, technology platform, training and operating playbook can be adapted to neighboring counties — turning disconnected municipal waste systems into a coordinated network of local circular economies.

We are seeking capital and strategic partners

To build the first model, demonstrate its returns, and scale a new infrastructure category for material recovery.

Important Reminder

Clean your recyclables before bringing them to community events!Rinse containers, remove labels when possible, and ensure items are dry. This helps us recycle more efficiently and keeps our events running smoothly.
